CDS Help

From now until the end of the year I will be available during CDSs on Tuesdays and Thursday for extra help.  I completely understand that getting up early in the morning can be tough, but if you feel that you need that extra help, it would be a good idea to come.  Here is the topic for Thursday's CDS

Thursday, 5.17.12:  Going over parametric equations

I will be talking about parametric equations and going over the notes from last Friday, 5.11.12.  If you were absent on Friday, I'd come to this session.

As you remember in class, I told you that you should be checking this blog frequently. Let's see who is...

if you bring in a box of tissues to class on Monday, you will get 3 bonus points.
if you bring in a box of tissues to class on Tues/Wed, you will get 2 bonus points.
if you bring in a box of tissues to class on Thurs/Fri, you will get 1 bonus point.

If you read this and can't get a box of tissues by Monday (or will be absent Monday) you can email me BY MONDAY and get the full 3 points after bringing in the tissues.

Breakdown for Quiz

Here's what you should know for the quiz on Tues/Wed:

How to find an exact value (ex. tan75)
Work in reverse using the sum/difference identities (ex. cos3xcosx-sin3xsinx)
PROOFS! Like any proof we have done in class
Finding solutions to an equation in the interval 0 to 2 pi
Writing an expression using only sinx and cosx.
Finding exact values using half-angle identities.

Clearly there are more than just 6 questions, these are just the topics covered.

Stressed about exams? Try Meditation!

In an effort to help reduce stress during exam time, I am going to offer meditation before the exams each day!  One of the teachers has a 30 minute meditation CD that I can use.  We would start at 6:50am.  I am also looking in to finding a shorter CD so that I can do one between exams as well since that time is only 30 min.
